The Filmmakers
Tom Ciaburri is an award-winning director and cinematographer. His passion for storytelling has led him on a journey of documentary, narrative and commercial filmmaking around the world. His work has been featured on national television, as well as in international film festivals. Ciaburri created an extensive collection of short documentaries for the non-profit Music Maker Relief Foundation. He also directed music videos for the Grammy-winning band the Carolina Chocolate Drops. Tom currently has a short music documentary screening at the New York Public Library, as part of an exhibition of Southern folk art and photography. A skilled fundraiser, Ciaburri is the director of multiple successful crowdsourcing campaigns, for both clients and his personal work.
Yoni Turkienicz is an independent filmmaker based in New York. He has worked on several fiction and non-fiction films internationally, including producing his own short and long-form documentary films. Most notably, Turkienicz has worked on films such as “Like Water”, “The Disappearance of McKinley Nolan”, “Kabbalah Me”, and “O Carteiro”. Turkienicz’s focus has been on socially centered documentaries, and one of his short films “Hurdles” has helped raise over 3 million dollars for the establishment of specialized sports prosthetic clinics for wounded veterans. Turkienicz works as an editor and cinematographer in NYC.
